🌙 Hypnotherapy – Working with the Subconscious Mind


Hypnotherapy uses a gentle, guided trance state to access the subconscious mind—the part of you that stores deep-rooted habits, emotions, and beliefs.


This is not stage hypnosis or loss of control. It’s a natural, relaxed state of focused awareness, similar to daydreaming or getting lost in a good book, where your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and healing. You remain aware and in control throughout.

CBH is a non-trance approach that combines the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with structured, solution-focused coaching. Instead of entering a trance state, you remain fully conscious and actively engaged while exploring how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours interact.


Through guided reflection, discussion, and evidence-based strategies, CBH empowers you to:

⚡ Understanding Anxiety, Adrenaline & the Fight-or-Flight Response


Anxiety can feel frightening — but it is rooted in the body’s natural survival system. When your brain perceives danger, it activates the fight-or-flight response, releasing hormones like adrenaline (epinephrine) to prepare you to react quickly.


Adrenaline:

  • Speeds up heart rate
     
  • Increases alertness
     
  • Shifts blood to muscles
     
  • Sharpens focus
     

Adrenaline is so powerful that it is even used in hospitals during emergencies — such as severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) or cardiac arrest — because of its strong effects on the heart and circulation. So while anxiety symptoms can feel intense (racing heart, shakiness, tight chest), this response is your body trying to keep you safe.


The problem arises when this system activates too often, or when there is no real danger present. That’s where Hypnotherapy and CBH can help — by retraining how the mind and body respond, regulating the nervous system, and restoring balance.


🌪 Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) & the Body’s Adaptation


Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is one of the most common anxiety conditions. It often shows up as persistent worry, restlessness, and tension, even when there is no obvious reason to feel anxious.

Interestingly, people with GAD can become so accustomed to living in a heightened state of alert that their bodies stop showing the dramatic physical spikes (like sudden racing heart) that many people associate with anxiety. Because their baseline stress response is already elevated, changes in heart rate can be subtle or go unnoticed. This adaptation can make anxiety feel confusing and exhausting.


Both Hypnotherapy and CBH are highly effective approaches for supporting GAD. By calming the body’s stress response and reshaping unhelpful thought patterns, they help restore a sense of control, clarity, and peace of mind.
