Uniting the Community Through the Power of Singing
Our community thrives when we create spaces to unwind, connect, and feel truly welcome — and joining a community singing group is one of the most uplifting ways to achieve this. Every Tuesday evening at 6:30pm, Andrea’s Healing & Wellbeing Centre invites you to completely FREE singing sessions at 61 Bridge Street, Castleford, WF10 1HH.
And the best part? You don’t have to be a singer — if you have a voice, you’re in! Whether you sing confidently or only in the car, this is a space where everyone belongs.
The group is led by Claire, a qualified music therapist who brings her expertise to help us experience the music therapy benefits. Under Claire’s gentle guidance, sessions allow us to let go of stress, express ourselves freely, and feel that emotional release that comes when music, movement, and friendship come together. It brings they bring upliftment, acceptance, inclusion, love, and plenty of laughter.
Music therapy is more than just singing — it’s a proven therapeutic approach that can:
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve emotional regulation
- Enhance mood and wellbeing
- Support mental clarity and focus
- Strengthen communication and self-expression
- Improve social connection and confidence
- Help process emotions in a safe and creative way
Combined with the natural joy of singing, it becomes a powerful tool for both personal and community wellbeing.
Singing itself also offers wonderful health benefits — it boosts the immune system, improves breathing, and lifts mood — while the social side helps us meet new people, build confidence, and enjoy genuine, pressure-free fun.
So join us, and discover how one simple weekly gathering can unite voices, hearts, and neighbours — with no judgment, no expectations, and no experience needed.
All are welcome — come as you are!
